Media personality Lynn Ngugi has questioned the source of Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo’s wealth, raising questions about his rapid rise, high-profile connections and extravagant lifestyle.
In a post shared on Thursday, October 1, 2026, Lynn said she had been trying to understand how Chivayo had accumulated such significant wealth and gained access to influential figures.
While sharing her thoughts, she made it clear that she was offering her personal theory and questions rather than presenting her claims as established facts.
Sudden wealth
Lynn questioned how Chivayo had seemingly risen to immense wealth and influence, particularly given the scale of his public displays of generosity.
“How do you suddenly become that rich, that connected and start giving away cars and millions like it’s nothing?” she asked.
Her comments focused on the businessman’s public image, which has frequently featured expensive cars, large cash giveaways and interactions with prominent personalities.

Lynn also questioned the source of Chivayo’s wealth and his rapid rise to prominence.
She wondered how someone could suddenly become extremely wealthy, highly connected and capable of giving away expensive cars and large amounts of money.
“How do you suddenly become that rich, that connected and start giving away cars and millions like it’s nothing?” she wrote.

“I don’t know, something is just not adding up for me… Just a theory, guys,” Lynn concluded.
