Pastor Victor Kanyari has thrown fresh doubt over his co-parenting arrangement with Hiram Gitau, popularly known as Tash, suggesting that things have taken a turn for the worse behind the scenes.
Speaking during a TikTok live session on Sunday, 5 October, shortly after holding a service at his church, Kanyari hinted at renewed tension without directly naming Tash.
Does Kanyari still pay his kids’ school fees?
“Guys, I no longer pay the school fees. There are some things that I no longer speak about or address, you guys said that I should keep quiet, so that’s exactly what I’m doing: staying silent. Some of these things are going very bad but I just keep silent.”
Things are actually not okay but I choose to be silent. Anything you want to ask me particularly about certain people, just go out and ask them. Even being silent is another language. Some things you just see them happening online and let it be,” Kanyari said.
The tension between Kanyari and Tash first erupted publicly after the death of gospel singer Betty Bayo in November 2025. Kanyari is the biological father of her two children, Sky Victor and Danivictor (Danny), while Tash served as their stepfather during his time with Betty.
Following her passing, a custody dispute broke out, with Kanyari accusing Tash of blocking his access to the children and raising concerns about their school fees and general welfare. The row played out very publicly, spilling across social media and into Kanyari’s own church platform.
School documents and bank receipts eventually surfaced showing that Tash had made substantial payments towards the children’s fees at Woodcreek School.
The children themselves reportedly expressed a preference to stay with Tash, with whom they had built a close bond. A court ultimately placed the two under Tash’s primary care, while ordering Kanyari to continue contributing to their school fees and basic needs. He was also granted frequent and unlimited visitation rights.
For a period, the two men appeared to step back from the public fighting, with Kanyari even acknowledging that they were two fathers who needed to work together.
Despite the cryptic remarks, a spot check on Sky’s social media pages showed her spending warm family moments at Tash’s home alongside her younger brother Danivictor.
Whether his latest comments signal a genuine breakdown or simply frustration vented in the moment remains to be seen. Kanyari, however, was emphatic that he had made a deliberate choice to hold his tongue, at least for now.
