Njambi Fever Opens Up on Her Relationship with Estranged Husband

Kenyan content creator Njambi Fever has finally addressed her separation from her husband Erick Okoth, widely known as Mixologist Ricky, in an unusually candid Instagram Stories post that touched on everything from heartbreak to therapy.

The post, shared roughly six hours ago on her official account @njambifever_official, came in a series of slides where she described the emotional weight of separation in unflinching detail.

The emotional reality of their split

Njambi did not hold back when describing what the past period has felt like.

“Separation comes with a lot. There’s anger. There’s hate. There’s disappointment. There’s questioning yourself… asking yourself where you went wrong? Why you chose wrong? What you didn’t see? Which red flags you ignored? You will question a lot. There’s nights you’ll miss each other. There are times you will block each other. At times you will crash out. Then some days you’ll be calm,” she wrote.

She went on to say that the relationship ending was not down to either of them giving up.

“I wanted us to work. I really did. He wanted us to work. He still does. Maybe I still do..” she admitted.

Her decision, she explained, was shaped not just by what she and Erick wanted but by the kind of environment they were creating around their young daughter.

“I want peace of mind, I want clarity. I don’t want to do things just because I’m feeling pressured… by family, by social media, by society, by ‘but you two have a kid’…by ‘but you two create a good family together'” she wrote.

Co-parenting means they will still be seen together

Njambi was direct about something she clearly felt needed addressing publicly: the fact that co-parenting will keep her and Erick in the same spaces.

“Yes, you will still see us together. Of course you will. We are co-parenting. We have a child together. We will spend time together. We will be in the same hotels, attend things together, take our child out together, laugh together & probably even have moments where it looks like everything is perfectly fine. & that doesn’t mean we are back together,” she clarified.

On why they chose to separate in the first place, she wrote:

“We separated because we just wanted to think clearly. Heal & figure out what is genuinely best for all of us & especially our child.”

She closed her post with a strong endorsement of therapy, writing:

“By the way Therapy is MAGIC!!! If you can pay for those sessions please do. I’m seeing life differently. Therapy works.”

This comes weeks after Njambi confirmed their status during a TikTok Live, saying:

“We are married. We have the certificate. Things are not working out. So right now we are separated, not divorced. We are giving ourselves grace.”

The couple, who had a civil wedding after welcoming their daughter together, have faced public scrutiny over allegations of infidelity and a series of fallouts. Fans have since flooded her comments with messages of support.
