Controversial TikToker Patrick Mbacio Thiro, widely known online as Patrick The Truth, was laid to rest on Friday, October 9, at his family’s home in Michatha Farm, Molo, Nakuru County. The burial came just under two weeks after his passing on September 26, 2026.

Patrick was 64 years old at the time of his death. He was born on May 20, 1962, in Molo Village, Nakuru County, the firstborn son of the late Joseph Thiro Mbacio, Christine Wacu Thiro and Eunice Wacuka Thiro.

From Mumias supermarket to TikTok fame

Before finding fame on social media, Patrick led a varied working life. He studied at Turi Sulgwita Primary School and later Michinda Primary School, after which he completed a driving course.

Over the years he held jobs at Jamii Yako Supermarket in Mumias, worked in the public transport sector, and eventually moved into land selling and farming.

It was on TikTok, however, where Patrick truly carved out a name for himself. He built a sizeable following through his unfiltered opinions on women and relationships, but it was one particular claim that sent his profile into overdrive.

He once said he had hosted over 1,200 women in his bedsitter, a statement that went viral and cemented his nickname, Patrick The Truth.

A quiet decline in his final years

According to his eulogy, Patrick enjoyed relatively good health for much of his life. But over the last three years, his condition began to change as he was diagnosed with both diabetes and high blood pressure.

He received treatment at Nakuru Provincial General Hospital and, in June 2026, was hospitalised there for three weeks before being transferred to Bungoma for further care.

He passed away in the early morning hours of September 26, 2026.

Patrick was a lifelong Catholic, having been baptised at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on 22 August 1964 by Father Cunningham.

He is survived by his mother, as well as brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces and grandchildren. His siblings include Elizabeth Wangari Kiano, Lucy Njeri, Peter Njau, the late Paul Wangai, Margaret Gathoni Njuguna, Ann Njoki, Anthony Kamau, the late Teresiah Wanjiku and Francis Karanja.

His family said in his eulogy that though he has departed, he will forever live on in their hearts and memories. Rest in Eternal Peace, Patrick Mbacio Thiro.
