Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino’s wife, Fridah Muthoni, has praised him as a loving husband and father, saying she considers herself blessed to have him as her partner.
Speaking during her husband’s birthday celebration held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, Fridah said that although Kenyans mainly see Babu’s political activities in public, she knows a different side of him at home.
In a video shared on Facebook on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, she thanked those who had taken time to celebrate her husband, saying the gathering had also blessed their family.
“We thought we were coming here to bless you, but it turns out that you are the ones who have blessed us. We have left here carrying your blessings,” she said.
Fridah went on to express gratitude to God for giving her a husband she considers exceptional, particularly in his role as a father to their children.
“I am very blessed, to be honest, to have a good husband like Babu. You know, there are things you see out here, how he operates in politics and everything, but I have a husband. God gave me the best, the best of the best,” she said.
She added that she appreciated him not only as a husband and father to their children but also for the way he relates to other children.
Fridah prays for Babu’s future
During the celebration, Fridah offered prayers for her husband as he began another year of life, asking God to grant him favour, good health and success in his ambitions.
She prayed that he would continue growing in influence and fulfilling what she believes God has planned for him.
“I pray that favour will surround you like a shield, that you will move from glory to glory for His glory. You are like a light that has been set upon a hill that cannot be hidden, and you will shine not just for Nairobi County or Kenya, but to the nations,” she said.
Fridah also prayed for protection and wisdom, saying she hoped God would expand her husband’s capacity to handle greater responsibilities.
“I pray that God will enlarge your capacity and your shoulders, because you are not just going to carry this county, you are going to carry this country one day,” she added.
Her remarks reflected her confidence in Babu’s future, extending beyond his current role as the Embakasi East MP.
Babu marks 37th birthday
Babu turned 37 on Saturday, October 10, 2026. The lawmaker marked the occasion by reflecting on his upbringing and paying tribute to his mother, Dorcas Owino, for the sacrifices she made while raising him.
In a birthday message, he recalled how his mother sold chang’aa in the slums to provide for the family and allow him to pursue education and a better future.
He credited her sacrifices and faith in God for helping shape his journey, saying he wanted to honour her before celebrating himself.
The celebrations continued on Monday, October 12, 2026, when Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and members of the Linda Mwananchi team surprised him with a birthday cake. Babu thanked the team, describing its members as more than colleagues because of the time they spend working together.
Fridah concluded her birthday message by encouraging those present to keep trusting God through life’s challenges, saying that faith had become an important lesson in her own journey.
“Wherever you have God, you cannot go wrong in life. I have come to understand the secret of life, and that secret is God,” she said.
