Veteran Kenyan actor Ondiek Nyukakwota, beloved for his role in Vioja Mahakamani, had reason to celebrate on Saturday, October 10, when he took to social media to share a proud milestone – his son’s graduation.
Ondiek posted a photo of himself alongside his son, Ian Mungai Wangechi, at what appeared to be an outdoor graduation ceremony at Kirinyaga University College.
What did Ondiek Nyukakwota tell graduate son?
The setting featured a white-and-green event tent, red plastic chairs, and a gathering of guests on a paved area in the background.
In the photo, Ondiek wore a blue denim jacket over a light-coloured polo shirt and dark jeans, and in a playful gesture of solidarity, he had a black academic mortarboard perched on his head.
Beside him, Ian stood tall in full black graduation regalia, a white stole adorned with blue-and-white floral leis draped around his neck, both men beaming at the camera.
Ondiek’s caption left little doubt about how much the moment meant to him.
“It gives me immense joy and pride to share the wonderful news that my beloved son, Ian Mungai Wangechi, graduated on Friday, October 9, at Kirinyaga University College,” he wrote, addressing his followers warmly.
He went on to acknowledge his son’s effort and dedication, writing:
“Your hard work, dedication, and perseverance have brought you this far.”
The actor also shared a Bible verse from Proverbs 16:3:
“Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and He will establish your plans,” rounding off the post with a prayer for Ian’s future success and an invitation for friends to join in the celebration.
The post drew a wave of goodwill from fans and followers who flooded the comments with congratulatory messages.
