Kenyan lifestyle and travel content creator Nairofey had fans and fellow creators buzzing after she posted a detailed breakdown of everything she earned during one particularly profitable week on the job.
In the reel she shared on Instagram on Monday, October 13, Nairofey walked her audience through each income stream, using phone-screen recordings, M-Pesa confirmation screenshots, and a yellow earnings-breakdown graphic to keep things transparent.
The total displayed at the end of the video: KSh 416,000.
How Nairofey made KSh 416,000 in one week
The week kicked off with two Instagram story placements, one a product review and the other a straightforward story ad.
Later that same day, she completed a week-long brand review that fetched her $1,000 on its own. A separate monthly brand contract, which had been pending, also came through with a payment that week.
Beyond the cash transfers, Nairofey racked up significant value through product collaborations. A beauty brand invited her in for a PR package, and she also visited a salon for a manicure, pedicure and other treatments totalling KSh 10,000 — none of which she paid for out of pocket.
She also picked up a pair of shoes as part of an ongoing collaboration. A commissioned arrangement with a hair brand meant she earned a cut every time her audience purchased through her link, and she withdrew those earnings during the same week.
In the caption, Nairofey was upfront about the unpredictable nature of influencer income.
“The reality of being an influencer is that some weeks you make really good money, and other weeks you can make close to zero,” she wrote.
“The income fluctuates but knowing how to price yourself and understand your worth is everything!”
The post resonated strongly with upcoming content creators who saw it as both a motivator and a masterclass in valuing one’s work.
