Kenya’s mobile spares queen Dama Wa Spares is officially on the guest list for Bahati and Diana Marua’s high-profile anniversary celebration, after a viral video showed her pulling out KSh 1 million in cash for one of the event’s coveted invitations.
The clip, filmed inside Dama’s sleek modern office, has taken social media by storm. It is presented as a casual walk-and-talk skit, opening with the on-screen text “Success begins at the top” before Diana strode in to personally deliver the news.
“Oh my gosh. Good to see you. And you smell so good,” Diana says upon arrival, before quickly shifting to business and introducing Dama as “the face and the success behind the Dama Mobile Spares.”
The Bahatis’ KSh 100 million anniversary plan
Bahati and Diana announced on 7 October 2026 that they will formalise their union on 6 November 2026, a decade after they first began their journey together.
The celebration, called The Big Day, is strictly black tie and limited to just 100 guests, with each invitation priced at KSh 1 million. Should every slot sell, the couple stands to raise KSh 100 million.
In the video, Diana personally presented Dama with the luxurious black and gold invite card, inscribed with the words:
“The Invite — A Black Tie Event by The Bahati’s, November 6th,” complete with the bold “KSh 1m only” price tag.
Dama does not hesitate
True to her reputation as a no-nonsense entrepreneur, Dama did not pause before reaching for the cash.
“Thank you so much. The Bahati’s big day, 6th of November we will be there and support,” she said, before counting out the notes on camera.
“One million cash money guys, look at the kind of friends I roll with. 1 million… allow me to get some money, let us make a check here. Period check, period clock it. Big day 6th of November here we come,” she added.
The exchange had both women in high spirits, with Dama laughing as she declared: “Million moja. Aye, pekiyake. Cash money. Pekiyake… Million bibia tajiri.”
Bahati had previously revealed that at least four buyers had already secured tickets by the time the announcement went public, leaving 96 spots still on offer.
The announcement has divided opinion among Kenyans, with some questioning the steep price while others view it as a savvy business strategy offering a truly exclusive VVIP experience. Bahati himself has not backed down, describing the event as a celebration reserved for “ballers.”
Dama’s purchase adds her name to a growing circle of celebrities and business figures who have confirmed their attendance, while also shining a spotlight on female entrepreneurs championing one another at the highest level.
