Kenyans across various regions should prepare for shifting weather patterns over the coming days.

The Kenya Meteorological Department has released a five-day weather forecast valid from October 23 to October 27, 2026.

In the latest update, the department notes that light to moderate rainfall is expected in several counties.

Thunderstorms and afternoon showers

For residents in the Lake Victoria Basin, Western Kenya, and parts of the Rift Valley, carrying an umbrella will be necessary. Counties including Kakamega, Kisumu, Bungoma, and Uasin Gishu will experience sunny intervals in the morning.

However, the afternoons will bring a noticeable shift. The department projects frequent afternoon showers with thunder and lightning throughout the five-day period.
