Former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s 65th birthday brought more than just cake and candles; a leaked phone call between him and radio presenter Baby Top has kept Kenyans talking long after the celebrations ended.
Baby Top, who has cultivated a close relationship with the Kenyatta family over the years, released an audio recording of the birthday call in which she addresses the former head of state in the most unexpected terms.
She is heard calling him “sweetie” and “sponyo,” names that raised eyebrows and drew laughter in equal measure across social media.
The playful exchange took an even more entertaining turn when Baby Top revealed the reason behind the call.
According to her, fellow entertainer Muthoni Wa Mukiri had put her up to it, urging her to request a share of the birthday celebrations.

”You know that I am old now…. I also miss you guys, and thank you very much for the wishes,” the former president said.
Uhuru turned 65 on Sunday, October 26, choosing to mark the milestone at his rural home in the company of family and a small circle of close friends, a far cry from the grand political gatherings that once defined his public life.
