A young Kenyan man who vanished from home in 2019 has been found living on the streets after his family spotted him in a social media post, sparking an emotional video call reunion that left him overcome with joy.
The man reportedly disappeared about seven years ago, leaving his loved ones devastated and desperate for answers. For years, his whereabouts remained unknown as the family searched with no success.
Family Discovers Son Through Social Media Post
The breakthrough came when a concerned Kenyan shared a post featuring the young man, who appeared homeless and in a visibly distressed state, with signs suggesting he had been struggling with mental health challenges.
His family came across the post and immediately contacted the person who had shared it, pleading for a chance to speak with him.
The kind-hearted stranger arranged a video call, holding up a phone so the young man could see and hear his relatives for the first time in years. The moment he realised who he was looking at, he could barely contain himself.
“Are you happy? This is your aunt; how many aunts do you have?” the well-wisher asked him during the call.
“Please call her, I am so so happy, wait let me see her first,” he responded, jumping, pacing and grinning throughout the exchange.
Family Calls for Help to Get Him Into Rehab
The reunion brought enormous relief to a family that had spent years in anguish, not knowing whether their loved one was alive or safe.
However, they acknowledged that the road ahead remains difficult. The family revealed that the young man had been abusing drug*s and appealed to Kenyans for support to help him access rehabilitation.
The story moved many online, with some sharing their own painful experiences of missing relatives.

The family’s appeal reflects the heartbreak shared by countless Kenyan households separated from loved ones, and the power of social media in bridging those painful distances.
