Babu Owino Finally Responds to Claims by Mosiria about Having Secret Wife: “Quite Painful”

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has come out guns blazing against Geoffrey Mosiria, daring him to publicly produce the woman and child he alleges the legislator has been hiding and neglecting.

Babu addressed the camera directly, dismissing Mosiria’s claims as baseless and calling on the alleged secret family to step forward.

Mosiria had reportedly made videos claiming Babu had a wife in Embakasi and a child whom he was neglecting, allegations the MP described as both hurtful and absurd.

Babu was quick to establish where he stands on the matter of marriage, stating clearly:

“I am married to Frida Muthoni Ongili. That is my wife. Any other wife that I am being given by Mosiria, I want that wife, atolewe, in public.”

Why the claims cut deep for Babu

What made the rebuttal particularly charged was the personal dimension Babu brought into his response.

He revealed that he lost his father when he was in Class 3 and was subsequently raised by a single mother, an experience that shaped how strongly he feels about parental responsibility.

“You know, Sara, it is quite painful. Babu was raised by a single mom after my dad passed when I was in Class 3. I know what single women go through in this country, looking for money to feed their children,” he said.

He went on to question the very logic of the accusations, asking why a sitting MP, who can guarantee a child’s school fees, food and medical expenses, would choose to leave any of his children destitute.

“How much can a child eat in a day? It’s even less than 200 shillings,” he said, arguing that no rational person in his position would abandon a child over such a small cost.

Babu invites the alleged child to come forward

Rather than simply denying the claims, the MP took a different route entirely. He extended an open invitation to any child alleged to be his, urging the mother to come forward without fear.

“Kama unajua uko na mtoto wangu leta huyo mtoto. I want that child,” Babu said, adding that a child is a blessing and no child deserves to be punished for the circumstances of their birth.

He also took a swipe at Mosiria’s credibility, pointing out that no neighbours or other voices had corroborated the story.

“How comes he’s the only person talking about this?” Babu said, suggesting the claims were politically motivated ahead of his planned 2027 gubernatorial run for Nairobi County.
