‎Edday Nderitu’s birthday message to her husband Samidoh has set social media buzzing, and it is not just the warm words that have people talking.

‎On Sunday, November 1, the mother of Samidoh’s children took to Facebook to mark his birthday with a deeply personal message, wishing him wisdom, peace, good health, and God’s favour in the year ahead.

‎But what caught fans’ attention most was how she addressed him: “Happy Birthday Mhesh.”

‎The term “Mhesh” is widely used in Kenya to refer to Members of Parliament and politicians in general, and its use by Edday has been widely interpreted as a public endorsement of the mugithi star’s reported political ambitions in Oljoro-orok, Nyandarua County.

‎How did Edday celebrate Samidoh’s birthday?

‎In her post, Edday wrote:

‎”Some connections are bigger than ourselves, and some roles remain meaningful regardless of where life takes us,” a line many followers read as an acknowledgement of the complicated journey the couple has shared in recent years amid very public personal drama.

‎She also wrote:

‎”May grace speak for you, may favor locate you, and may the years ahead bring you the kind of happiness that truly matters. You deserve beautiful things, today and always.”

‎Samidoh himself took to Facebook to mark the occasion separately, writing:

‎”The gift of life and good health is never something to take for granted. I am grateful to God for another year and for the blessing of having wonderful people around me. I have seen your wishes, read your messages, and felt the love.”

‎He then responded directly to Edday’s post, replying:

‎”Thank you soo much Njambi wa Mhesh,” a term of endearment that essentially translates to “wife of the MP,” further fuelling speculation about his political plans.
