Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko has thrown his weight behind influencer Rahma, popularly known as Nihan, after she made serious allegations against her boyfriend.
Nihan accused forex trader Trevor Gichuru, commonly known as Flossin, of assaulting her during a domestic dispute.
What did Sonko say about the Nihan-Flossin incident?
Sonko, who regularly champions justice cases on social media, described the alleged attack as attempted murder and branded it a heartbreaking episode that demanded urgent attention.
“Trevor, kwani huna huruma? Huyu ni mtoto wa wenyewe! Imagine the pain her family is going through!” Sonko wrote in his post, adding a stern message to couples in troubled relationships:
“Kama mapenzi hayaendi, wachaneni kwa amani!”
He also took aim at Flossin’s reported wealth, writing: “Pesa si leseni ya kuua!” — a pointed warning that money does not grant anyone the right to harm another person.
What did Nihan allege happened with Flossin?
According to Nihan’s own account shared online, Flossin struck her repeatedly on the head with an iron bar, leaving her with severe injuries.
She claimed she fled their home in distress following the altercation. Online personality Mali ya Kibe reportedly came to her rescue and drove her from the scene.
Nihan later broadcast a TikTok livestream from her hospital bed, updating her followers on her condition.
The influencer claimed she suffered a serious head wound, a skull injury, and a fractured hand. She also alleged that Flossin had been intoxicated around the time of the incident.
Nihan additionally addressed a Mercedes-Benz that Flossin had publicly gifted her, alleging the gesture was purely for publicity and that the car was never legally registered in her name.
Was Flossin arrested?
Reports circulating online suggested Flossin visited a police station to file a counter-complaint against Nihan, but was instead arrested following the allegations made against him.
It remained unclear whether he had been formally charged or whether he or his legal team had publicly responded.
Sonko confirmed that his doors were open to Nihan and her family, promising to loop in the Directorate of Criminal Investigations and the Judiciary in pursuit of accountability.
