Tanzanian singer Zuchu is not taking kindly to suggestions that her new Bentley was a gift from her husband Diamond Platnumz.

In a candid interview with Wasafi FM, she made it crystal clear that she bought the vehicle with her own money, telling the reporter plainly:

“Nimepambana mwenyewe.”

The luxury car, valued at KSh 33 million, came with customised number plates and drew massive attention the moment Zuchu unveiled it.

The first person she chose to ride in it was her mother, legendary Taarab singer Khadija Kopa, a touching gesture that only added to the buzz surrounding the milestone.

Did Diamond Platnumz buy Zuchu’s Bentley?

It did not take long for social media to erupt with speculation. A significant number of netizens insisted the Bentley must have come from Diamond Platnumz, with some going further to suggest it could be a push gift.

The claims clearly reached Zuchu, and she decided to address them head-on. In the Wasafi FM interview, Zuchu acknowledged that her husband has been a steady source of support, crediting him for creating an environment where she could work freely without interference.

She described how he never placed obstacles in her path and always gave his blessing whenever she was booked for shows, noting that in their faith, once a husband says no, that is final. Diamond, she said, never does that.

However, she was firm that the car purchase was entirely her own achievement, and one she reached through her own hustle.

Rather than dismiss Diamond’s role entirely, Zuchu struck a thoughtful balance. She expressed gratitude for the kind of partnership she said every working woman deserves, one where her husband is proud of her milestones rather than threatened by them.

“It is a great blessing to have a husband who supports your work to the extent that you are free to work any time,” she said during the interview, adding that she feels motivated knowing her partner, her children’s father, and her family member are cheering her on.

She wrapped up her remarks with a prayer, asking God to bless Diamond and their union, while making it abundantly clear that the Bentley represents her own hard-earned success.
