Kenyan Prince Blasts Bahati for Turning KSh 1m Wedding into MP Campaign Launch

‎Kenyan forex trader Kenyan Prince found himself on the receiving end of a surprise he was not expecting when gospel musician and politician Bahati invited guests to what was billed as his wedding on Friday, November 6, only for the evening to reveal itself as the launch of his Mathare MP campaign.

Guests, including Kenyan Prince, parted with KSh 1 million each to attend the event, apparently expecting a wedding celebration.

What did Kenyan prince tell Bahati?

A visibly irritated Kenyan Prince took to social media on Saturday, November 7, posting a video in which he vented about the previous night’s events.

“Yesterday Bahati took advantage of us,” he said in the clip, delivering the remark with a wry self-awareness that was not lost on his followers.

Despite his frustration, Kenyan Prince said one moment during the evening salvaged the night for him.

‎He pointed to Reverend Lucy Natasha’s appearance on stage as the highlight, particularly the Bible verse she read from Joshua chapter 1 verse 9:

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

‎The post drew a flurry of comments from Kenyans online, many of whom could not resist turning the moment into comic relief.

The reactions reflected the widespread amusement at seeing someone known for bold financial dealings to express outrage at being caught off guard. For many Kenyans, the irony of the situation was simply too good to pass up.

‎Bahati, whose real name is Kevin Kioko, has been vocal about his political ambitions in Mathare, and Friday’s event appears to have been a dramatic, if controversial, way of making that push public.
