Buru Buru: Mob attacks woman after fire broke out from her house following fight with boyfriend

Police in Buru Buru have launched investigations after irritate mob attacked and injured a middle aged girl after fire erupted in her house following a scuffle with her boyfriend .

According to a police report seen by K24 Digital, Maria Atieno got into a physical scuffle with her boyfriend over unknown issues and fire erupted from the house.

The fire was put out by members of the public before it spread to the adjacent houses.

It was after putting out the fire that the angry crowd attacked and bruised Atieno on her left side as the boyfriend escaped safely during the melee.

This comes as more than one hundred Nairobi City County Fire and Rescue team members are undergoing rigorous training at the Kangundo Road fire station to sharpen them on rescue, fire and disaster management.

Speaking during the opening of the training, Disaster and Emergency Management Chief Officer, Bram Simiyu said the officers will be equipped with skills that will ensure they are ready to deal with emergency fire outbreaks that occur daily in the city especially in the slum areas

“We will ensure the training offered at Kangundo road firestation prepares our officers and trainees with the much needed preparation to deal with the real emergency issues and be able to save lives and improve the teams capacity to fight disasters,” he said.

The cohort currently undergoing training at Kangundo Road is the first of a group of 300 firemen and women earmarked for training as part of the department’s strategy to beef up its skilled manpower.
