Travel blogger and lifestyle content creator Natalie Tewa is engaged.
Tewa surprised followers on Sunday after sharing a series of photos from her engagement on her Instagram page.
The 29-year-old blogger said ‘Yes’ in an intimate ceremony in Nyali, Mombasa, where she had been vacationing over the weekend with her girlfriends.
“In the spirit of love, I’ve got some news… I said YES,” Natalie captioned the first photo of her fiancé holding her hand after he put a ring on it.
She followed it with an obscure elevator selfie of the two showing Tewa leaning on the man’s shoulder, and attached American singer India.Arie Simpson’s Steady Love Song’s lyrics:
“He puts every other man I’ve ever known to shame (known to shame)/ I just wanna be with him, talk to him, sleep near him, walk with him/ Be with him (every day)/ I wanna be lovers and friends and mother his children/ Make breakfast on Sunday and fight and then make up again/ ‘Cause if life’s gonna be crazy anyway/ I wanna do it with him.”
Tewa then unveiled her future husband’s identity in another photo, tagging him in a shot of the engagement ring, which she said was a very very slightly included (VVS) diamond ring.
“@mbugua4 VVS diamonds look very good on me, and you know my style very well. Love it,” she said, adding, “I was caught very unaware! He hid this from me very well.”
A click-through of the Instagram profile of Tewa’s mystery man, real name Francis Mugane Mbugua, reveals that he is based in the Netherlands.
He works as the strategy and operations director for the Amsterdam-headquartered online travel agency Booking.com.
“May God bless our union,” Tewa added, attaching a collage of candid photos of the two in various locations.
Tewa has kept her romantic life under tight wraps since her much-publicised breakup with her Ugandan boyfriend Moses ‘Rnaze’ Mukiibi in 2019, amid infidelity allegations.
In an August 2022 YouTube Q&A, the blogger was asked by a fan where she sees herself in the next five years, to which she responded: “I definitely see myself just growing a family… all my life I have wanted to be a mom.”
“I have plans for my business and plans to continue content creation but most of all, I plan to have a happy family,” she added then.
