A family in Ndhiwa constituency, Homa Bay County, is seeking justice for their 17-year-old daughter who was allegedly defiled by a group of six men.
The victim is currently admitted at Homa Bay County Teaching and Referral Hospital where she was rushed with injuries after the incident which occurred on Monday night in Homa Bay Town.
According to her family, the girl left home in Ndhiwa two weeks ago and her mother had no idea where she had gone to.
The girl said the men confronted her while walking in Homa Bay Town at night and defiled her next to a bar.
After the ordeal, she said one of the men tried to force her to ingest acid on her genitals, before they later reportedly took her to a different location.
Homa Bay sub-county Children’s Officer Joseph Otieno said he has received information about the incident and his office is collaborating with security officers to trace the suspects.
