Six people have been admitted to the Homa Bay County Teaching and Referral Hospital after sustaining gunshot wounds from anti-government protests on Thursday.
The six were shot following running battles between police and the protestors in Homa Bay Town.
The six include four men and two women who sustained gun injuries during protests in Shauri Yako area when police were engaging youths during day two of anti -government protest.
The hospital’s CEO Dr Peter Ogolla said the two men who were shot on the upper thigh are waiting surgical operation.
Both are admitted at the facility in a stable condition.
Homa Bay town had been deserted on Thursday morning after a contingent of police repulsed protesters, paralysing business and transport.
So far 26 people have been arrested, including Kagan ward MCA.
