Police in Homa Bay County are investigating an incident where unknown criminals broke into four national government offices and made away with computers, cameras and other office items.

Affected offices are the Registrar of persons, Cooperative office, National Council of Persons with Disability and the office of the Assistant County Commissioner in Homa Bay Town.

At the registry of persons office, the criminals access the office at night and took away three digital cameras, two computers and a machine used in getting digital fingerprints for people registering for IDs.

At the county cooperative director’s office, they made away with two laptops and three computers.

In the County Commissioner’s office the criminals took away two computers and an internet router.

Meanwhile, in the office for Persons Living with Disability, two computers were taken away.

Staff from the affected offices have already been summoned to record statements with police.

According to the police, there was no sign of breakage in the offices, meaning the criminals used regular keys to open the door.

Homa Bay County Police Commander Samson Kinne says the breakage could have been an inside job adding that his officers are working round the clock to get the culprits.
