Kenyan media personality Jacque Maribe has announced a major comeback after a long hiatus from the media industry.

Through her official Instagram page, the former news presenter updated her followers with news of major changes on the horizon, scheduled for this coming September.

“1st September 2022, I chose to only do stories here on IG…well, shouldn’t that change now on 1st September 2023?? The sabbatical ends. Loading…” She wrote.

While the details surrounding her impending return remain shrouded in mystery, fans have flocked to her comment section sending hearty messages while expressing their anticipation.

It remains to be seen whether the veteran TV personality is poised to grace the screens once again or if she has aspirations to delve into other media-related avenues.

Criminal case

The former TV anchor along with her ex-fiancé Joseph Irungu are accused of the murder of businesswoman Monicah Kimani.

Her lifeless body was discovered at her residence in Lamuria Gardens on September 20, 2018.

Kimani’s tragic demise occurred shortly after her return from Juba, South Sudan, where she managed a family enterprise.

Both Maribe and Irungu have been formally charged with the crime of murder. Despite the allegations, they both pleaded not guilty.

Maribe was granted release on October 30, 2018, upon posting a cash bail of Ksh1 million, following a month in legal custody.

Conversely, her former fiancé did not share the same fate, enduring over 500 days of detainment.

Ultimately, he was granted a cash bail of Ksh2 million by High Court Judge, James Wakiaga, on February 13, 2020.

On March 29, 2023, the judge declared that the prosecution had successfully demonstrated, beyond a reasonable doubt, the involvement of the pair in the murder of Kimani.

“After evaluating the evidence on record and all the documentary material placed before me by the parties. I find that the accused with a case to answer. Accordingly, they are placed on their defence,” Justice Nzioka ruled.
