A woman arrested in connection with the murder of Nairobi Hospital finance director Eric Maigo at his Woodley home in Kilimani area has been freed by a Nairobi court after detectives found no evidence linking her to the offence.
Cynthia Lusenga Andayo alias Flora Akoth Okonda was discharged by Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Bernard Ochoi following an application by lead investigator Patrick Boge that she be freed unconditionally since they have not found any evidence that she had a hand in the killing of Maigo.
“You honour the investigations so far conducted into the matter reveal that Lusenga was not involved in the matter. We seek you close the investigation file against her and she be released unconditionally,” DCI officer Boge told the court.
Consequently, the magistrate allowed the officer’s request and freed Lusenga without any charges.
The application by the state to free Lusenga comes after detectives claimed they are in the process of arresting the main suspect who photos emerged last week.
