All is not well in some branches of the larger Holiness and Repebtabce Church founded by self-made Prophet David Owuor In Samburu, clerics have been taking on each other over leadership, accusing each other of maladministration including tribalism
Those concerned argue the wrangles would lead to the downfall of the church in the county, calling for Owuor’s intervention .
Subsidiaries of the larger Repentance and Holiness Ministry under renowned preacher David Owuor have been experiencing infighting in the recent past.
The disunity has led to the closure of sister churches in the county, with those concerned now calling for Owuor’s intervention.
Samburu County overseer bishop Julius Kirui was accused of sending away resident clerics from their respective churches, supposedly painting the whole ministry in a bad light, as per those unhappy with how he conducts the affairs of the church.
“He came and started going against us. He would start suspending the resident pastors in various churches. I felt the seriousness of the matter when he sent me a letter and warned my faithful not to talk to me.
About ten pastors have been sent away and the churches no longer flock as it used to be,” said Thomas Lekalkalo, one of the embattled preachers.
