Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has explained why his team failed to beat Burnley in Saturday’s Premier League tie.

Pochettino watched as Chelsea and Burnley drew 2-2 at Stamford Bridge.

Cole Palmer opened the scoring from the penalty spot for the host just before halftime after Lorenz Assignon was sent off for fouling Mykhailo Mudryk in the box.

Josh Cullen shockingly equalised just minutes after the break, before Palmer scored what appeared to be the winning goal late on.

But Dara O’Shea’s strike in the 81st minute ensured the visitors got a point from the encounter.

Speaking at his post-match interview after the game, Pochettino said the Blues failed to score a lot of goals from the many chances they created against Burnley.

According to the Argentine, his team didn’t manage to deal with the situation in the second half.

“We are very disappointed and frustrated in the way that in the second half, we didn’t manage to deal with the situation,” said Pochettino.

“We are a team that when we play in possession and go forward are capable of creating many chances, but we didn’t score with the chances we created.”
