South African superstar Tyla is getting rave reviews in the United States of America (USA) after her show-stopping performance on the prestigious Late Night Show.

Her electrifying set left critics and audiences alike raving, including SA DJ Ms Party, who congratulated Tyla on her achievement, praising the Grammy award winner for her skills.

“Tyla is good!,” declared Amapiano DJ Ms Party after Tyla’s performance. “Not once does she check what’s happening behind her and she never misses her mark.

“The way she didn’t check before dropping sideways. That means she knows everything will happen at the back and that means she rehearses every show to the bone!”

Tyla’s appearance on Monday, April 8, was her first on The Late Night Show With Stephen Colbert. She performed her song, ART, from her new self-titled album.

But she has previously performed on big shows such as The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and the Swedish talk show with Bianca, which was her TV debut.

When introducing Tyla, the host of the Late Night Show, Colbert said: “She won Best African Music Performance at this year’s Grammy Awards. Performing ART from her self-titled album, Tyla.

Tyla, who signed with a US label, Epic Records, touched down in South Africa on March 31 and received a hero’s welcome at the OR Tambo International Airport as she was celebrating her Grammy win with local fans.

She has been making good strides in the entertainment industry and in an interview with Vogue magazine, Tyla said she was surprised how quickly her career catapulted but was grateful for her success.

“I know people are wondering ‘How did she come out of nowhere and all of this is happening?’ Tell me about it, I don’t know myself. Winning the first African performance Grammy, I couldn’t have asked for a better Grammy to win. My parents are literally bragging about it still till this day,” she said.
