The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has apprehended three robbery suspects who have been under police radar since 2023.

DCI said in a statement that the long-running joint operation led to the arrest of 39-year-old Julius Osoro Nyagoi in Nairobi’s Kilimani area on Wednesday.

Nyagoi, following an interrogation, led the officers to his homestead at Green Park Estate in Athi River, Machakos County where his accomplices were domiciled.

“In his house no. 641, two of his accomplices; John Michael Muturi, 38 and Charity Njeri Kimani aged 34 were also arrested before a thorough search was conducted and several exhibits recovered,” said DCI.

A Czeska pistol loaded with 7 rounds of ammunition, two pairs of motor vehicle number plates, assorted motor vehicle parts and several sim cards were recovered from the house.

Other items include mobile phones, two laptops, an iPad, logbooks for cars registered under number plates KCE 135W and KCQ 381A, wristwatches and ATM cards.

“…found at the parking lot were motor vehicles Reg No KDC 019P Mazda Bongo, KCE 135W Toyota Noah, KCB 790B Toyota Mark X and KDE 459A Toyota Fielder, all of which were impounded for verification,” DCI added.
