Kiambu County Assembly Deputy Speaker John Njue Njiru is set to be arraigned before the Thika Anti-Corruption Court for alleged involvement in bribery.
According to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), Njue is accused of soliciting a bribe of Ksh.130,000 to ‘facilitate’ and have the complainant in the matter allowed to develop her plot worth Ksh.15 million within Thika Town.

The deputy speaker, who is the MCA for Hospital Ward, is facing charges of receiving a bribe contrary to the law.

Njue was arrested by EACC detectives on June 13, 2023. He has been out on a police bail of Ksh.100,000.
