Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has named the best centre-back in the Premier League.

Ferdinand overlooked Manchester City defenders John Stones and Ruben Dias, choosing Arsenal’s William Saliba as the best defender in the English top-flight league.

GOAL recently challenged the former England international to stay silent until he heard the name of the defender he deemed the best in the league.

Despite hearing the names of Manchester United’s Lisandro Martinez and Harry Maguire, Tottenham’s Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, Newcastle’s Sven Botman, Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konate, and Arsenal’s Gabriel Magalhaes, Ferdinand only spoke up when Saliba’s name was mentioned, confirming his choice.

“Yes,” Ferdinand replied when Saliba’s name was mentioned.
