ODM party has announced that it will live stream the memorial service of celebrated reggae DJ Njambi Koikai, also known as Fyah Mummah.

In a statement, ODM recalled Njambi’s early support for the party, highlighting her as one of the first entertainers to join when it was formed.

“When the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) was formed, one of the admirers of its ideology was media personality and entertainer Jahmby Koikai. She immediately became a member,” the statement said.

“Today, in her honor, we shall stream live her memorial service from the Nairobi Chapel on Azimio TV.”

Njambi’s memorial service is scheduled to take place at Nairobi Chapel, Ngong Road, at 11 am on Thursday. The funeral service will be held at Lang’ata Cemetery, Nairobi, on July 14, 2024.

Her family expressed gratitude for the thoughts, prayers, and overwhelming support shown to their late daughter, describing Njambi as a powerful prayer warrior and a person with a joyful spirit who brought love and hope to their home.

“Njambi challenged us to be better, to dream bigger, and to make our lives count. Her legacy as a loving and caring daughter, sister, niece, relative, and friend will forever be etched in our hearts,” the family said.

Njambi passed away at Nairobi Hospital on June 3, 2024, after battling endometriosis since she was 13. She underwent 21 surgeries to treat the disease but remained resilient and hopeful throughout her journey.

Njambi became a global advocate for women suffering from endometriosis, providing support, advice, and organizing awareness campaigns. Even after undergoing life-changing surgery in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2018, she continued her advocacy work, inspiring others with her resilience and dedication.
