Nine people lost their lives on Sunday night following a tragic accident on the Narok-Bomet road in Narok County. The incident occurred in the Ratili area when a tyre of the Bomet-bound matatu they were traveling in burst, causing the driver to lose control. The vehicle rolled 20 meters off the road around 7 p.m.

The fatalities included six men, two women, and a child who later succumbed to injuries at the Longisa County Referral Hospital. Among the deceased was the matatu’s driver. Additionally, two men sustained serious injuries and were admitted to the same hospital. The bodies of the deceased have been taken to the Longisa County Referral Hospital mortuary for identification and autopsy.
