Makueni County has enlisted 125 interns to undergo specialized training in various fields, placing them across its departments to enhance their skills and prepare them for future career opportunities.

Deputy Governor Lucy Mulili, speaking at the inauguration at Green Park, emphasized the interns’ year-long tenure in Makueni as crucial for skill refinement and talent discovery. Each intern will receive a monthly stipend of Sh15,000 to support their living expenses.

Mulili urged the interns to approach their training with dedication, emphasizing the importance of effective communication and interpersonal skills across the 16 departments they will work in.

Elizabeth Muli, County Executive Committee Member for ICT, Education, and Internship, encouraged the interns to embrace challenges as opportunities for growth and to demonstrate enthusiasm and initiative in their duties.

Muli assured the interns of government support and guidance, highlighting the value of gaining practical experience in their respective fields for future employment prospects.

The event was attended by dignitaries including MCAs Jonathan Muthoka and Sarah Mbilo, County Attorney Stanley Nthiw’a, and Chief Officers Irene Makau, Alfonce Kanunga, and Bonface Mutua, who provided words of wisdom and encouragement to the aspiring professionals.
