Teams participating in the ongoing Nyanza Secondary Schools Term Two Games have been warned against fielding ineligible players. Otieno Oloo, the chairman of the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) Nyanza region, and Lawrence Karuntimi, the education director for the region, cautioned that stern action will be taken against those found guilty.

“I want to emphasize that these are games for students. We shall not allow any non-student to take part. We have put in place measures to ensure the games are exclusively for students,” said Oloo.

Karuntimi echoed Oloo’s sentiments, stating, “I want to reiterate the chairman’s sentiments. If you are not a student, please don’t take part in these games. We are very serious about the issue.”

Oloo and Karuntimi spoke at Kisii School during the games’ opening ceremony. The games, which will conclude on Saturday, are seen as a precursor to the national championships to be held in Kisii from July 29 to August 7. Oloo also urged referees to be fair and firm during the four-day championship.

Today marks Day Two of the games, with Koderobara facing Ong’icha and Ambira playing against Tonga in boys’ football. Additionally, Agoro Sare will battle Ong’icha, Koderobara will compete against Kisumu Day, Sameta High will face Ambira, and Ambira will take on Matutu PAG.
