In an interview on the Obinna Show, the outspoken legislator claimed that rival politicians had allegedly paid youthful protesters to vandalize his property. He stated that he became aware of plans to target his nightclub several days prior to the incident.
However, the lawmaker refrained from taking action, expressing concern about the potential for further loss of life, as several Kenyans had already died during the anti-government protests.
“I thank God because what could have happened there could have been so tragic. I didn’t want it to escalate into death because of cheap money,” Sudi explained.
“It was better for me to lose my property than for people to die. We were aware,” he added.
Oscar Sudi went ahead to dismiss allegations that about six people were killed while attempting to break into his Timba XO club.
“I had people that I could have fought back but I did not. I let the police deal with them,” the vocal MP alleged.
“I said we should not injure anybody. I said let them do what they want. Even when my opponents were mobilising the crooks, I knew it,” Sudi stated.
Sudi also mentioned that the nightclub, which was recently vandalized, had just been renovated and was set to reopen within the next week. His comments come less than a month after a group of youthful protesters stormed the establishment, causing damage. The anti-government protesters had marched through the streets of Eldoret Town before ultimately invading the MP’s club, located within the Metropolis.
