A search operation is set to resume after two young men drowned in the Kitangani Earth Dam in Machakos County’s Masinga Sub County.

According to police, the tragic incident occurred while the men were fetching water from the dam. By late Thursday evening, the two could not be traced.

Area chief Peter Ndunda explained that the victims were operating a two-wheeled bullock cart at the time of the incident. One of the bulls drowned, while the other became stuck in the muddy waters.

Efforts to recover the bodies and rescue the surviving bull will continue Friday morning.
