Kenya Power has urged residents of Garissa town to be patient as efforts are underway to restore electricity supply, which has been disrupted since Tuesday. The utility company attributed the outage to a fault at the Kenya Electricity Transmission Company (KETRACO) Substation that services the area, affecting neighborhoods including Madogo, Bangale KBC, Iftin, Bulla Game, Bulla Mzuri, Tawakal, Bashal, Modika, and Garissa University.
In a statement, Kenya Power confirmed that a dedicated team from KETRACO and Kenya Power is currently on-site working to resolve the issue, with power restoration anticipated later in the day. The company apologized for the inconvenience and thanked residents for their patience and understanding during this time.
Additionally, Kenya Power has scheduled power outages in other counties, including Nairobi, Kakamega, and Busia. In Nairobi, areas like Muthaiga and Loresho will experience outages, with specific locations such as Brookside Groove, Matundu Lane, and the University of Nairobi set to be without electricity from 9 am to 5 pm. Kakamega County will see outages in areas including Otiende Estate, Joyland, and Emasai Mission, while in Busia County, Khetias supermarket and the DC’s office are among the locations affected during the same hours.
