#EPL: Jamie Vardy matches Cristiano Ronaldo’s record following Leicester 2-1 win over Spurs

Leicester City striker, Jamie Vardy, has matched the Premier League record held by superstar Cristiano Ronaldo in the past.

Vardy scored for Leicester City as they secured a shock 2-1 win in the Premier League against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Brazilian attacker, Richarlison put Tottenham in front in the 33rd minute before Vardy equalized in the 46th minute.

Moroccan youngster, Bilal El Khannouss scored in the in the 50th minute to help the Foxes to a 2-1 win and propel them out of the relegation zone.

With the goal, the English attacker became only the fifth player aged 37 or over to be involved in 10+ goals in a Premier League season (via Squwaka).

The last player to do this record was Ronaldo during his second stint at Manchester United.

Ronaldo scored 18 goals and provided three assists in 30 league games during the 2021-22 season.

Ryan Giggs also reached the record in the 2011-12 season with two goals and eight assists.

Teddy Sheringham, also of Manchester United, was the first to achieve the record and was followed by Gary Speed.

Jamie Vardy has turned 38 this month and is still playing at the highest level.

Vardy has seven goals and three assists in 21 league games this season.
