Kiharu Member of Parliament (MP), Ndindi Nyoro, has been forced to clarify a past social media post that has come to haunt him two years later.

Back in April 2023, the vocal MP posted a picture of the warring Sudanese general, Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo, the leader of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which is at war with the country’s military force.

Ndindi Nyoro then captioned the photo with his trademark phrase, “We are African, and Africa is our business.

However, with the recent reports from the UN refugee agency showing that more than 60,000 people have fled the Sudanese city of el-Fasher, which was captured by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, Ndindi Nyoro came under sharp criticism from a section of Kenyans online, forcing him to delete the controversial X statement.

Clarify

On Saturday, November 1, 2025, the Kiharu lawmaker came out to explain why he shared the post. In a brief statement, the legislator maintained that it was purely for information purposes.

Ndindi Nyoro clarified that his post was not in any way endorsing the actions of RSF leader Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo, widely known as Hemedti.

“Wadosi wangu, msisahau hii pia. The posts were purely for information purpose on who the main actors in Sudan are (were) after the war broke out. Both posts were done at the same time for only that purpose,” Nyoro wrote while quoting another statement he shared of Abdel Fattah Al- Burhan, the de facto ruler of Sudan and Sudanese Army Commander.

Before the US and other countries threatened the RSF leader with sanctions, he was a constant figure in the country, where he even met President William Ruto at State House, Nairobi.

Renewed war

There have been reports of mass executions and crimes against humanity as the RSF fighters stormed the city after an 18-month siege marked by starvation and heavy bombardment.

“What is unfolding in El Fasher recalls the horrors Darfur was subjected to 20 years ago,” Tom Fletcher, UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, said during a Security Council meeting on Friday, October 31, 2025.

The world has failed an entire generation,” he stressed, adding: “The Sudan crisis is, at its core, a failure of protection, and our responsibility to uphold international law.”
