As part of President William Ruto’s Universal Health Coverage plan, the Social Health Authority has sent an urgent invitation to all healthcare providers in Kenya.
Through a statement posted on Facebook on Friday, November 25, 2025, the Mercy Mwangangi-headed SHA called on providers to take immediate action on a key administrative requirement.
In the notice, SHA directed all contracted Health Care Providers to log into the SHA e-contracting platform at 6 PM on Friday.
This will help them sign the Public Officers Medical Scheme Fund addendum to their existing contracts.
The authority clarified that this signing process is mandatory and directly linked to the administration of all schemes operating under the Public Officers Medical Scheme Fund.
Therefore, failure to comply could affect service continuity under the scheme.
“This signing will cover the administration of all the schemes under POMSF,” the notice stated.

SHA on signing link
SHA further informed healthcare facilities that the detailed signing link will not be publicly shared.
Instead, it will be sent directly to the official email addresses of individual Health Care Providers, ensuring secure and targeted communication.
The statement, signed by SHA Chief Executive Officer Mercy Mwangangi, emphasised that the move is part of ongoing efforts to streamline healthcare service delivery.

Additionally, SHA reminded providers that this process aligns with broader reforms aimed at strengthening access to affordable healthcare services for public officers across the country.
Healthcare providers have been urged to remain alert, check their emails, and ensure compliance within the stipulated timeframe to avoid disruptions in processing and service authorisation.
The Social Health Authority reaffirmed its commitment to efficiency and transparency, assuring providers that further guidance will be offered where necessary.
For support or inquiries, providers have been advised to use the toll-free number 147 or visit the official SHA website.
This directive marks a critical step in reinforcing structured health service management under the evolving Universal Health Coverage system.
