Diana Marua intervenes after Morgan angrily reacts to his phone number leaking

Socialite Diana Marua has urged her son, Morgan, to learn self-control after he admitted that he became angry when a person he trusted leaked his phone number.

Speaking in a video shared on her YouTube channel on Thursday, November 27, 2025, Diana told Morgan that situations where someone’s number is shared without permission are common, and the most important thing is learning how to respond calmly instead of acting out of anger.

“You could do something, and then you regret it. In that process of trying to handle a situation out of anger, you might do something that could cost you something you never imagined could happen, all in the snap of a finger,” Diana said.

Diana admitted that she has also struggled with anger in the past, saying that she has made impulsive decisions that later left her questioning why she allowed her emotions to take over.

She urged Morgan to understand that reacting aggressively only changes how people view you, and correcting such damage later becomes much harder.

“I have done so many regrettable things when I am angry because I have also been working on self-control over the years. What happens later is that I sit down and ask myself, ‘Why did it get to this point? This is someone I love, or this is something I treasure. Why did I let this get out of hand?’ I usually start there,” Diana said.

She emphasised that anger can make someone lash out at the very people they care about, or ruin something they value, only for them to sit down later and ask themselves why the situation was allowed to escalate.

Diana reminded Morgan that learning self-control is not only about appearing calm on the outside, but also about maintaining dignity and protecting relationships.

“People always see you differently after such reactions, and you end up wanting to correct things to prove that you acted out of anger, but it won’t help. So, Morgan, I need you to have self-control,” Diana added.

Morgan’s reaction

Diana’s advice came after Morgan opened up to her about an incident that left him feeling embarrassed, especially after he realised that he had responded emotionally in a school WhatsApp group without knowing it was the group he had been added to.

Speaking in the same YouTube video, Morgan narrated how the incident unfolded. He said he had trusted someone with his private number and had clearly told them not to share it with anyone without asking him first.

“So, there is this person; he knows himself, I won’t mention him, and I had told him, because of security reasons, not to give my phone number to anyone without asking me first,” Morgan said.

However, one morning, he woke up to countless messages and calls from unknown numbers, something that immediately alarmed him.

“But one morning I woke up and found that many people were texting me, and many numbers were DMing me. My number had been leaked, and some people were asking questions while others were just saying hi. I did not enjoy that. It did not sit well with me,” Morgan added.

Morgan recalled confronting the person who had leaked his number, and in the heat of the moment, their conversation escalated into a tense exchange.

He said that while he had not even come to terms with the leaking of his number, the person went ahead and added him to another public WhatsApp group.

Morgan said he got even more upset and, without checking, assumed it was just another random group.

Fuelled by frustration, he sent harsh messages, only to later realise he had been added to a school parents’ group, and all the adults there had witnessed his emotional outburst in real time.

“I confronted the person who gave out my number, and I was angry. Instead of taking the right decision, it resulted in a situation where we were exchanging words. Then, in that process, while I was filled with so much anger, the person who had leaked my number added me to another public group. I got even angrier, and little did I know it was a school group, and all the parents were there. So all the parents were seeing what I was writing and how I was lashing out,” the socialite’s son said.

He said that the realisation hit him hard, and when his parents later questioned him, he struggled to even explain what had happened.

“My parents later questioned me, and I didn’t have an explanation,” he added.
