Police officers from Nanyuki town have appreciated the good rapport between them and the residents. In a New Year’s party at the station, the police officers congratulated the residents for maintaining peace and discipline during the festive season.
They stated that the town, which is a metropolitan, has a reduced number of crimes and which has made their work easy.
In most cases, the relationship between police officers and the common Mwananchi is normally a no-see-each-other.
Speaking on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at the police station in Nanyuki, the County commander of Laikipia, Zachary Kiman, stated that the residents maintaining peace has promoted tourism in a great way.
“Thank you all for maintaining peace during the festive season. The town received a lot of visitors, and we did not encounter any chaos,” said Kimani.

The business community from Nanyuki also appreciated the efforts of the policemen men stating that they can easily run businesses at any time freely.
“During the festive season, we have had our businesses running smoothly. Thank you to our officers who were all over to ensure our safety and that of our business, a culture that should be copied by other towns,” stated the chairman business community of Laikipia, Robert Kabata.
Jacob Muchai, the CCIO, called upon the residents to always reach out to the officers in case of any problems. He said that the officers are dedicated to serving at all times.
“Where you live, you know each other, and it is easier for you to identify criminals. Please surrender all suspects and criminals to us for further action.”
The party was organised by the station OCS Mike Waweru as a symbol of welcoming the new year. The police officers were on duty during the festive season to ensure safety around the town.
