A young lady broke protocol to hand over her academic papers to Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki for a job opportunity.

During the opening of the Cianda Assistant County Commissioner’s office in Kiambu county where the CS was in attendance, the woman was handed the mic to address the meeting where she seized the opportunity to ask for a job in the new office.

She boldly stated that she is a graduate with both degree and diploma certificates but has been unable to secure employment. She would later ask if she could hand over the papers to the CS.

“Personally, I am here to request a job opportunity because tunafungua ofisi ya AC, the AC ako employed. Mimi personally nikikuja hapa nilikuwa nakuja kutafuta job. I have my papers here. Niko na diploma ya Business Administration na degree ya Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, procurement option. I will be thankful if you give me a chance to hand over my papers to you,” the lady pleaded with CS Kindiki.

Further, she attributed the rising drug abuse and crime rates in the county to unemployment.

“Shida ni moja, I am here to talk about the youths. Nimeskia crime rate iko juu na pia drug addiction iko juu. Sababu kubwa ya crime rate kuwa juu ni youths are unemployed. Unapata you are moving from this company to the next kutafuta job na vacancies are not available. So unajipata the thing you can do is ukuwe mkora or you go join your friends in dealing drugs,” she added.

Loosely translated as”(The increased rate of crime and drug abuse among the youths can be attributed to inadequate job opportunities. Idle youths are left with no option than doing drugs and crime like robbery to feed themselves.)”
