Over the recent past, Chepkirui Tonui, famously known as King Kalala, has always found a way to keep herself mysterious, leading people to be more curious about her.
Her latest response to a fan asking about her whereabouts adds even more to the mystery.
After a rather confusing period of being on and off the media, fans not being able to find her on new content both online and offline, Kalala posted a picture of herself in black and white, captioned “New chapters”

It was under these pictures that one of her fans curiously questioned her, asking “Umepotelea wapi?”, loosely translating to “Where are you?”
Kalala, in her usual fashion, responded cheekily, stating that she was pregnant. “Niko na mimba”
This comment elicited mixed reactions as some social media users congratulated her while others brushed it off as her usual joking. Whether or not she is really pregnant remains a mystery as she has not provided any evidence to prove her claim.
King Kalala’s fame
Kalala rose to fame as a digital content creator and radio personality. Often referred to by her fans as the “female Andrew Kibe,” she gained significant traction for her deep, husky voice and her unapologetic, often controversial takes on modern relationships and social dynamics.
Kalala first went viral through short-form videos on Instagram and TikTok, which eventually landed her a hosting role at NRG Radio.
Known for her tomboy aesthetic and “no-nonsense” persona, she has built a brand around being unpredictable.
This latest interaction is characteristic of her “King” persona, using humour and shock value to deflect personal inquiries while maintaining her status as one of Kenya’s most talked-about digital influencers.
Following her high-profile departure from NRG Radio in late 2024, Kalala has transitioned into the independent digital space, most notably as a co-host on the podcast 3 Truths, No Lies.
Her recent disappearance from mainstream media coincides with this shift toward long-form content and personal branding, where she continues to challenge societal norms.
