Comedian Eric Omondi, who is on the third day of his walk from Nairobi to Busia, has issued an update on his health.

In a statement shared across his social media platforms on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, the philanthropist shared that the change in weather has taken its toll, even as he remained committed to completing the mission.

Omondi noted that the transition from hot weather when he walked from Nairobi to Mombasa to the current cold and rainy weather as he makes the long journey to Busia has affected his body.

He acknowledged that the weather was not the best for the mission, but asserted that he is well prepared and did not expect it to be easy.

“The night has been long…Weather ni Mbayaaa watu wangu. But safari Lazima iendelee. So the 1st problem is that my body has moved from extremely hot Conditions (Mombasa walk) to extremely Cold weather (Busia Walk),” he stated.

Enduring heavy rain in Gilgil

He also mentioned the heavy downpour that he endured on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, as he went through Gilgil town, which was not an easy experience.

“Secondly, hio Mvua ya Gilgil Jana. But nobody said it would be a walk in the park. BUSIA HERE WE COME. You can keep buying Kilometres or send whatever you can,” Omondi stated.

The comedian was seen with a sizeable crowd in his procession walking through the town amid a heavy downpour.

He put out a statement on his social media profiles asserting that, against all odds, he would make it to his destination.

“Against all odds…Tumepita Gilgil na Mvua. Busia tutafika. Sisi kwa Sisi Help and Rescue centre will be a reality soon,” the philanthropist stated on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.

This loosely translates to: “We have passed Gilgil amid heavy downpour and shall make it to Busia, and Sisi Kwa Sisi Help and Rescue Centre will be a reality soon”.

Omondi’s dream

The philanthropist embarked on the charity walk to Busia to raise additional funds to construct a help and rescue centre following the success of his walk to Mombasa

The facility, which is under construction, will feature a hospital, a school, a rescue centre and a warehouse, cementing the comedian’s charity initiatives.
