Media personality Lynn Ngugi has declined to join politics after blogger Bravin Yuri suggested she would make a suitable Nairobi County Woman Representative.
In a statement shared via her X account on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, Lynn expressed appreciation for the suggestion, noting that being considered for such a role was meaningful to her.
“I really appreciate the confidence and the thought behind this. It genuinely means a lot to even be considered🙏🏾”
She, however, stated that she does not feel called to venture into politics, making it clear that her path remains outside the political space.
“But I’ll be honest , I don’t feel called to step into politics.”

Lynn explained that her position is influenced by what she has observed over time, particularly journalists who transition into politics and struggle to maintain what once made them impactful.
“I’ve watched some of the bravest, most grounded journalists enter that space and slowly lose what made them powerful in the first place. And sometimes it doesn’t even feel accidental… it feels like the system is designed to wear people down or set them up to fail.”
She added that she prefers to focus on her strengths, saying she believes she is most effective in the work she is currently doing.
“For me, I strongly believe in doubling down on what I know and do best. That’s where I feel most effective, and that’s how I believe I can contribute meaningfully.”

Lynn went on to respectfully decline the suggestion while maintaining appreciation for being considered.
“So I’ll have to respectfully decline, but I’m grateful you thought of me.”
She added a playful note, saying that if she ever chose to venture into politics, she would set her sights on top positions such as the presidency or a senatorial seat.
“And if I ever run, I am going for President or Senator 😂😂😂 Appreciate you, Bravin.”
Earlier, Bravin had suggested that Lynn Ngugi would be a strong fit for the Nairobi County Woman Representative role.
“Lynn Ngugi would make a very interesting Nairobi County Woman representative,” he wrote on his X.
