It’s a trap!: YY Comedian advises men not to respond to women who have rejected them repeatedly

Kenyan content creator YY Comedian has advised men to be cautious when women they have been pursuing for a long time suddenly reappear with a casual message after ignoring them for an extended period.

In a video shared on his X account on Thursday, March 26, 2026, he warned that such unexpected “hi” messages should not be taken as a genuine change of heart. He argued that in many cases, the sudden return could be driven by hidden motives rather than renewed romantic interest.

He told men not to rush into responding or getting excited when someone who has consistently ignored their messages finally reaches out. According to him, the timing alone should raise questions, especially if the person had shown no interest for a long time.

YY suggested that some of these late check-ins may end up turning into requests for money, and advised men to stay alert and avoid being drawn into conversations that could lead to financial expectations.

Majamaa, ukiona ule dem umekatia for a long time na hajibingi message zako, out of the blue anakutext ‘hi’, umefikiwa, unaombwa pesa. Kitu isikudanganye ati she has come to her senses. She has not. Anataka pesa yako, usijibu message,” YY stated.

This comes months after YY Comedian responded to claims by an anonymous woman claiming they were in a romantic relationship.

The claims surfaced in a screenshot that the comedian reposted on his Instagram page on Sunday, January 19, 2026. In it, the woman claimed they had been dating for nearly three months, but said his behaviour left her uneasy.

She claimed that YY Comedian does not allow her to touch his phone, even as he keeps pushing for marriage, something she said has left her confused about their future.

The woman also admitted she is seeing another man who financially supports her and meets her needs.

“We have been dating a comedian for almost 3 months, but this dude can’t allow me to even touch his phone, and he keeps on begging me for marriage. I’m confused coz I love him, and at the same time I have this mwesh who does everything for me,” the lady said.

Responding to the claims, the comedian appeared to brush them off, questioning what the real issue was: his phone, the other man, or marriage.
