Kenyan boxing has found a new face in Mbavu Destroyer, the young fighter who has captured the attention of fans nationwide.
Known for his viral ‘Weka Mawe, Nimejaa Ngori’ chant and fearless persona, Mbavu has become a symbol of street boxing energy, translating into mainstream attention.

Mbavu Destroyer, born Ferdinand Omondi, is 25 years old.
He hails from Migori County and has risen from humble beginnings, using his passion for fighting to build a name for himself online and in local boxing circles.
Currently, Mbavu trains and stays in Mbotela, Nairobi, where he’s been preparing for the much-hyped bout and building his profile both inside and outside the ring.
“I am just 25 years old; I cannot fake my age,” Mbavu said during a previous interview.
“Ocha ni Migori lakini sahi huku Nairobi tuko Mbotela.”
“Nimesomea Makongeni secondary nikamaliza 2020 hiyo year ya Corona,” he revealed.
