Blogger Njambi Fever has said that tribalism is still strong among the so-called woke generation, including Gen Z and millennials.

On Wednesday, April 8, 2026, she made the remarks while reacting to online discussions on the issue. She said the problem is still present even among younger people who claim to be more aware.

She added that many people believe the younger generation is different, but she disagrees with that idea. According to her, tribalism has not reduced and is still common in daily conversations and online spaces. She said the situation is worrying and should not be ignored.

“Anyway, if you think ati we are the woke generation mtashangaa sana,” Njambi Fever said.

Tribalism is still visible

She explained that tribalism today is still very visible among Gen Z and millennials. She said in some cases it even feels stronger than in older generations. According to her, people are still divided by tribe in many situations.

Njambi Fever added that she feels older generations were at least more open about their tribal views. She said they did not hide their positions the way younger people do today. She explained that this makes the current situation more confusing.

“At least they had the balls to show they’re tribal bila kuficha,”Njambi Fever said.

Concern over online conversations

She further said she has been reading online posts and was surprised by what she saw. She explained that many conversations still show strong tribal thinking despite claims of progress. She said this has made her question the idea of a “woke generation”.

“Nakwambia toka jana nimesoma tweets nikashangaa,” Njambi Fever said.

She added that intermarriage has not helped reduce tribalism as some people believe. She said the issue still exists even with more mixing between communities. According to her, the problem is deeper than many people think.

“Intermarriage hazijasaidia kitu,” Njambi Fever said.

She also called for people to focus on reducing tribal thinking in society. She said the constant division is unnecessary and affects unity. She added that she does not want the discussion to ruin her day, but felt it needed to be said.
