Social media personality Wanja Nyarari has strongly criticised what she described as hypocrisy and pretence displayed by some individuals following the death of Samuel Michael Kinyanjui, popularly known as “Paps.”
In an emotional Facebook post on Thursday, April 9, 2026, Wanja questioned why people tend to speak positively about others only after they have passed away, despite having treated them poorly while they were still alive.
She expressed frustration at what she termed as insincere mourning, calling out individuals who, according to her, had previously worked against the late Kinyanjui but were now publicly mourning him.
“Lakini mbona watu hujifanya mtu akikufa? Watu hawaogopangi laana?? Kama Hukua unasikizana na mtu akiwa hai, mbona akikufa unasahau maovu ulimfanyia??? Yet akiwa hai ulijaribu kumumumaliza kibiashara????” she wrote.

Wanja did not hold back in her remarks, accusing some of attempting to damage Kinyanjui’s reputation and business interests during his lifetime, only to turn around and praise him after his death. She described such actions as mockery, adding that she strongly dislikes pretence and double standards in society.
“That is mockery! I hate pretence nkt! Why? Mukahia nda mugicunga hinga ici!!!!! G.S is annoyed!!” she added.
At the same time, she paid a heartfelt tribute to Kinyanjui, revealing the profound impact he had on her and her team. She described him as a patron, mentor, and investor who played a key role in shaping their work and values. According to Wanja, Kinyanjui consistently supported their initiatives, especially those aimed at defending truth, upholding the law, and addressing community issues.
“Team G.S, we have really lost our Patron and Mentor, Samuel Michael Kinyanjui (Paps), a man who taught us to be fearless, defending truth, upholding the law, and standing firm for what is right,” she wrote.
She credited him with teaching them to be fearless and principled, noting that he never turned them away as long as their cause was just.
His guidance, she said, inspired them to analyse issues affecting their community and take meaningful action critically.
“Our Team investor, never turned us away as long as we had a noble action…..you taught us to audit community issues, analyse and act,” Wanja added.
Wanja further expressed deep sorrow over his passing, describing it as a significant loss not only to her team but also to the wider Westlands sub-county. She lamented that “good people” seem to be the ones dying, emphasising the void left behind by Kinyanjui’s death.
“I think only good people are dying nowadays, very, very sad to have lost this great man….. very very sad, Paps umekosea the entire Westlands subcounty, kwenda tu hivo tu,” she wrote.
