Police in Machakos are investigating the theft of a vehicle that occurred while the owner was attending church. Jones Muinde reported that his Toyota Voxy, registration number KBN 870T, was stolen in broad daylight on Sunday while he was at AIC Bomani Church in Machakos Township.

“I was in church and missed it at the parking when I went to pick it up after the service,” Muinde told the Star on the phone shortly after discovering the theft.

The incident has been reported to Machakos Police Station as a motor vehicle theft. Muinde is unsure if his car was broken into or if a master key was used to access and drive it away.

“I can’t tell whether they (suspected thieves) broke into the vehicle or had a master key since I didn’t find it,” Muinde said.

He has urged the public to be vigilant and to contact him or the relevant authorities if they come across the vehicle, as the police continue their investigation into the theft.
